I don't share Craig's thought that you can't freedive with both hands on the camera grips. I did that at Jellyfish Lake in Palau (strobe arms removed). Like with skydiving, you can steer with the chest, your hips, and how you kick.

I couldn't go down for long, but that was because I was unweighted, and my camera without the arms is also positive. If I wanted to get serious about it, I would have a surface float (like the ones used by abalone or spearfishers), add 4 or 6 lbs to my hip, maybe run a line between me and the float.

This is my dream.
