Santa Fe NM

We spent a day in Santa Fe on a road-trip recently. I thought I'd share some of my pics. It is a beautiful town and worth a visit.

The rotunda of the state capitol - we try to visit any capitol that we happen upon

The capitol has a better art collection than some museums I've been to. This bison is made of recycled materials - take a close look

The Lady of Guadalupe church

The alter in the church

The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi

The doors to the cathedral

The alter inside

Loretto Chapel

This spiral staircase is supported only by the steps themselves. It is what people come to see (the chapel has been deconsecrated)

But it has a spectacular alter too.

The oldest church in the US - San Miguel Chapel

The simple interior

This sculpture at Museum Hill is called Journey's end. Since it was so strongly backlit by the setting sun, I decided to silhouette it against the sky.
