Then pick your poison, there is not a design that can do both at the moment. For short clips, 4K HQ works very well.
But it does not. It is not possible to record 4K HQ (or any video) in R5c still mode where you can quickly shoot stills. R5 acumulates heat from short clips and becomes too hot after that.
R5 works fine for me for short clips. Maybe you are shooting those clips continuously, in which case you aren't flipping between video and stills really. I shot 2 hours of 4k HQ last sat, and worked out well. Now I have to put the clips together which is the more challenging part of making a watchable video. What are you actually shooting?
If I can record 4K HQ clips without accumulating heat and overheating (including summer outside) than R5 is my dream camera. But reviews show R5 is not that. Now R5c is designed to do just that and price is not much more therefore R5c ic clear choise for me. Of course if I already had R5 things would be different.
OK. R5 is a better camera for stills. But of course, only you can tell what works better for you. If you care more about video than stills, R5c is clearly better. The other way around, not sure why I would lug around a bigger body and forego IBIS for small practical benefit for my use cases. As I said, I actually own a R5 and shoot 4k HQ just fine for my practical needs, irrespective what a YouTuber says. It's clearly not for every use case, but I know lots of users producing great content regularly. You have to choose, which is exactly what I said - pick your poison
Did you tell Canon any of that?
If people would not complain about R5 overheating there would not be any R5c. My intention is to tell here what bothers me at R5c because if I don't nobody would know. You dont't have to worry if and what I am going to buy.
That is fair enough. I was saying give that feedback to Canon too.
They do work with professionals with serious needs. Or are you just telling us here? Is your intention to wait for a future camera - which probably means you will stay with R5 dor now, R5c isn't a camera for you?
I don'understand what you are saying. I don't have R5.
It's ok. I'm not sure what you shoot and whether R5 or R5c will actually help you. If you didnt want to share your gear or work needs here, Canon does work with creators of high quality work directly
I know I'm usually not interested in every camera that is released even if it has ONE feature I need. I've known over years that I can put together a camera with features cherry picked to my own needs. I have to pick from what is available in the market
Sure, when I picked 7D2 it was not perfect too.
Every camera body
