I had seen this site, and it was one of several conflicting reviews of the 28-200 I had seen that motivated my posting. But I admit I had not noticed that I could compare these two lenses directly at 200mm using this site.

My difficulty with these assessments is that I could not find how they were made. Were they based on photographing a test chart a couple of metres away, or were they based on real-world situation such as the Foto-4x4's two pictures of the house? Those pictures hardly seem consistent with the assessment that at 200mm the edges are Good on the Sony and only Average on the Tamron. Maybe its my bad judgment, but to me the Sony looks worse at the edges in those two pictures.

Maybe I owe Foto-4x4 an apology in that he posted on this topic in an older post I had not discovered. Thanks for patiently answering the query that had already being answered on an older thread.
