120 FPS ? VS 120fps video

There is some excitement about a new feature that Nikon has implemented in the Z9, shooting reduced Mpx jpegs at 120 fps.

Is this really anything 'new/different' from shooting video at 120 fps and then doing a screen grab? I am able to advance frame by frame for the exact moment selection, things seem to be very similar.

Am I overlooking something?

I can't do it in camera, only with LR or another program. Is it the ability to have them separately on camera and grab directly from there that is the difference?

Or are there quality or some other differences?

Thank you

Nikon Z9
