I took my M6II out of its bag today, turned it on, and saw this:

That purple line somehow got into the screen. I had a screen protector on, which I removed, in case I could simply wipe the line off, but no such luck. It doesn't show up on the images, but it's annoying. I have no idea how it got there, but I can't get it off. I phoned Canon to get a repair estimate (the camera is out of warranty), and was told around $329 plus tax and shipping. That would be close to 50% of the cost of a new one. Does anyone know how easy it is to buy a replacement screen and install it myself? I did a quick Google search, and got one very brief tutorial on replacing the screen on the M6, which is probably a similar process. It looks like I would just need to unscrew five screws. But I would still need to know where to get a replacement screen. A Google search for that turned up lots of hits, all of them for different screens!

Yikes! Sorry to hear that.

Just maybe the M6 LCD will be compatible! I've seen threads about folks swapping theirs out and they didn't seem to think it was too tricky.  If you're handy enough, perhaps open the back of your camera and check the connection?

Best of luck! Keep us posted.
