Some (lomo) Petzval thoughts
2

Looking for lenses to lend a more classic look to some of my images.  Sharpness in the middle, falloff and character in the edges and corners…. Also always in the market for ‘interesting’ lenses.

This landed me on the Lomography website, and I picked up their Petzval 55mm mii for my Nikon Z.  Really enjoying the look and usability so far.  It feels like it is put together quite nicely, and I’m getting used to the controls.  It has an additional control ring that changes the amount of ‘character’ you get, which also changes the focus (so you gotta remember to focus last).  Just some shots so far…

This is Virginia and she is hard to land focus on

Mom glued glass beads to a bowling ball.  Dunno why

Anyway, next project will be to use it under some studio lights on people…
