P7800 on a forest walk
6

SOOC jpegs, some of which cropped and/or (s)lightly edited.

(some AF 'tests' at the end)

very 'busy' background

a bit less 'busy' background

So far, so good, as far as AF performance goes. However, in situations like the one below I struggle to get the AF - either in Auto or Cener (normal) or Center (wide) - to focus on what I want.

So I had a look at AF 'Manual' (choosing the AF point with the 4-way arrows using the D-pad), but that's very cumbersome without a fixed position of your camera, I found.

Then I tried 'Target finding AF' which worked pretty good - it forms yellow boxes on what it 'finds' and when you're happy with the result you take the picture:

Center (normal) and, possibly, Center (wide) would have focused on the background

with the yellow box on the red moss 'flowers' (?)
