D500/EN-L15 (Li-ion20) Question - Just use them?

I finally bit the bullet and purchased a used D500 that came with the 2013 version of the EN-L15 (Li-ion20).  According to Nikon, these were replaced in 2015 with the "a" version.  Both batteries show as New(0), but one started out at 87% capacity even when fully charged.  The camera and batteries have not had much use.

Can I expect these batteries to really perform as if new, or will there likely be issues because these batteries likely are 4-5 years old already?  (Since the D500 was introduced in 2016, not sure why the didn't come with at least the "a" version of the battery.). I'd be fine replacing them with the "c" version (which has more capacity) if needed, but am curious as to what to expect.

Many thanks in advance.
