RF 100-500 on the way, so...?
1

Tah dah.  Finally got a RF 100-500 from Canon USA refurb (10% off of new, which was enough to let me rationalize it).  My question (for today) is, can I shoot from a tripod or other stabilizing surface with IS on, and if so, what is the effect on IQ, response and quickness?  If the answer is "no," then I'd have to be ready to flip the switch a lot.  I shoot wildlife supported and handheld.

I am aware of what was supposed to be the case for my EF 100-400 ii, but I haven't seen any discussion, including real world experiences, with the 100-500 on a R5.

ANSWER:
This question has not been answered yet.
Canon EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS II Canon EOS R5
