A7IV burst rate drops further when using mechanical first curtain
6

I thought I was getting slower burst rates with my A7IV than expected, so I tested them by photographing my phone's stopwatch. With electronic front curtain shutter on, I replicated the results from Alpha Shooters.

However, when I turned EFCS off (which you'll want to do for the best bokeh quality when using fast lenses at fast shutter speeds) my burst rates fell for all drive modes except HI+, when you lose live viewfinder feedback. I haven't seen this discussed elsewhere, so I'm sharing here.

My results for different raw file types are below. I was shooting in release priority using autofocus and auto ISO.

I'd appreciate someone checking my results on their camera, but as of now it seems like if you want mechanical first curtain shutter and live viewfinder feedback, the A7IV maxes out at 5fps compressed and 4fps lossless. It's a bit disappointing, I have to say.
