Why saved retouched images become flat (Silver Efex 2) ?

Here is an example of a B&W conversion using NIK Silver Efex 2 : Before saving the image to Tiff or jpeg - the image has more contrast , brighter whites and darker blacks . *After saving the image or converting from Tiff to Jpeg - the image loses contrast , whites become more mid tone gray (dull) and lastly blacks become more dark - in general , the whole image darkens and flattens . This image (below) appears on the verge of having whites almost blown out  on my monitor (factory calibrated Dell) - yet below we can see that is not the case in the saved image . The result appears to be like what happens to a print when it dries down . At any rate , this is driving me crazy - your thoughts as to what is going on and how to correct so the saved image appears the same as the image appeared just before saving ?
