Z Teleconverter 2 vs 1.4 pro and cons - for my usage
1

In reading through these forums, there appears to be a bias towards the 1.4 based on image quality.

I would love comments from people with actual experience ideally with one or both TCs.

I don't care about MTF charts from Nikon (I don't understand them to begin with) and other lab based stats.

Usage would be on the 100-400Z lens.

Not likely to care much about birds in flight or cheetah running since I have a Z5, and not shooting kids in soccer either.

Additionally unlike to print super large images.

I might go to Africa this year but again, if I can catch a lion strolling, that's enough, I don't have to have Cheetah in full chase mode.  There the 2x would come in handy I am guessing.

Lots of opportunity in Arizona for small animal and stationary birds.

What do I need to consider?

What shutter speed would I need to hand hold this combo?

The 2.0 likely requires another f-stop?

What else and what's the pros and cons of each.

Thanks in advance.  Images appreciated.
