My passion is my Olympus MFT cameras, but I own a nice Canon Rebel T5i with 18-55 STM kit lens and I’ve ordered a 55-250 IS STM and 24 STM lens for it.
None of my Olympus MFT cameras have PDAF and they are really, really bad at continuous tracking autofocus.
About five years ago, I owned a Canon Rebel XT (EOS 350D) and gave it to my daughter. She shoots rodeos with it and gets fantastically good shots on running horses.

I have a much more modern Canon Rebel and better lenses .
What settings or tips can I get for shooting rodeos using my Canon T5i and STM lenses.
Any help is much appreciated and certainly needed.
IDK - but these photographs are beautiful - thank you for sharing.
I took the first shot, and she took the second for a paying client out in South Dakota.
Two things I just love about Digital Rebel series cameras.
The first is that Canon spent a long time working on the default colors and white balance of cameras before they released the first thousand dollar truly good APC digital camera in 2003. Whether it’s that 2004 Rebel XT or today’s Rebel T8i, you can take the camera from the box and use it and beautiful images come out.
The other thing is Canon does autofocus right.
My shot was easy enough.
But don’t you know that girl’s mother was just ecstatic to have that shot with the cowboy in the background blurred and the cowgirl 232 and horse (guess who bought that horse?) in sharp focus.
