Two shutter curtains on EOS M6, why?
1

Hi there, I am recently reading about technologies like EFCS (Electronic Front Curtain Shutter) that help reduce shutter shocks during exposure. With no information available online for shutter information for M6, I took off my lens and recorded my shutter release for M6 (base mode). From my very basic slow-mo recording of the shutter release from an iPhone 12 with 8 seconds of exposure, it appears that M6 does have EFCS from my understanding. It closes the shutter curtain only once even with my 8 seconds of exposure, which means the start of the exposure is triggered electronically. What baffles me is not this, but of the seemingly present "two layers" of back curtains.

From my understanding of DSLR shutter curtains, most front curtains "pull" down and the back curtains "fall" down. But here, the M6 has both its "layers" fall down one after another and released one after another. Specifically, the one layer with the metal arm visible is dropped down first, and when it is released, there is another layer without the arm remains for a brief moment.

I don't think this is related to EFCS. Just out of curiosity, can anyone point me to the right direction to the reason behind two layers of curtain on this shutter? Thank you in advance!
