I'm wondering if I can use my Canon EOS Rebel t6 (18mpx 9af points 3.5fps) coupled with a 150-600 for wildlife photography, specifically bird photography. The af system seems limiting and the 3.5 fps is disappointing. I don't personally own the Sigma 150-600 but I can regularly get in in my hands from a relative. I'm 14 so my budgets limited. Would this setup be suitable for bird photography? Thank you so much!

I believe that is the same 18MP sensor I had in my Canon 7D1. I personally found that sensor to give excellent results even up at ISO 3200. I do have a fairly high tolerance for noise compared to others however.

That 9pt AF is pretty rudimentary. I had it on my 5D1 along with 3fps burst and limited buffer. I think it will be fine for static, perched birds but you may benefit from a tripod or monopod.

Getting shots in flight isn't impossible but certainly easier with a more advanced camera that give more buffer and burst speed. I would give it a try with your T6 first on the centrepoint, 3.5 fps, AI Servo. Look at it as a bit of challenge being conservative with your shutter presses for the critical moment. You will still develop core skills of framing, tracking that will play over if you get an upgrade.
