Re: Small and great

Afflicted by short sight, I need to wear glasses to clearly see things further than half an arm's length. So beside the reflection from sunlight, bright lights, and other similar difficulties, having to remove my prescription glasses to focus on a camera's small LCD, and then replace them to see a more distant subject, becomes a real nuisance .

For small cameras without a viewfinder, I have found a solution in using a ClearViewer attachment. It lets me use the camera at eye level (so the LCD is usually shaded by my head, hand, and the rim of my hat), the camera is also steadied against my head, and I see an enlarged view of all the details on the screen through the attachment's lens.

So whilst my (dominant) right eye closely examines and frames a subject without having to remove my glasses, my left eye can be aware of what is happening outside the frame.

When not in use, the device folds gently against the LCD screen, so the camera can be rapidly deployed and stowed. I've found these devices a great advantage on half a dozen different cameras over the last decade.
