Strange X-T2 Download Problem After Using X-Acquire

This problem started two days ago after I used X-Acquire to download a copy of my X-T2 settings to my Macbook Pro using a USB cable.

I shoot jpegs and download the files to Apple Photos on my MacBook Pro, using the same USB cable I used with the X-Acquire backup. I am now getting two identical jpegs with the exact same DSCFnnnn file number. I haven't changed any of the settings in Apple Photos on the MacBook Pro and there isn't much in the way of settings anyway, so I was guessing it's something of the X-T2. I had to change Settings:PC Connection Mode from USB Card Reader to USB RAW Conv./Backup Restore for X-Acquire to work, but the had to change it back to USB Card Reader for Photos to download the jpegs.

I ran a test by first deleting any images on both cards, then took about half a dozen shots around the house, fine jpegs only. When I look at them in preview, I only see a single copy of each jpeg. But when I downloaded the jpegs to Apple Photos, there were two copies of each jpeg again. This seems to point back to the problem being in Photos but I'm at a loss of what could be the issue. Since I have a second X-T2, I'm going out and shoot tomorrow and see if the problem still happens.
