New year, new gear.

My 2 Christmas presents this year:

1) Zeiss Touit 32mm. I've long wanted this and decided to splurge on a brand new copy. Initial impressions are that it's more contrasty than the 35mm f/1.4 and I do like the uniqueness and first party type AF.

2) the anti X100: a Sony A7S. We often see people with full frame systems picking up an X100 to simplify but I got a good deal and decided to do the opposite. I only have 2 lenses, an E to LM adapter and then a double adapted Konica 40mm f/1.8 and Minolta 58mm f/1.4 but have ordered a couple more adapters to use my m42, FD, and Pentax lenses. 12MP is ridiculous especially with these film era lenses. Also the Sony color & AWB is awful but just shooting RAW to adapt. I'm used to cropping and making some framing adjustments on my Fuji shots but that's just not an option here. The low light performance is crazy and the PASM scheme hasn't bothered me at all. Having ISO on the rear wheel makes manual mode second nature and front and rear dials both work well. With Fuji I have always been a PASM hater but with this implementation it's perfect.

I don't think I'll be switching systems but I like the larger sensor experience at about 1/6 what a GFX body would have cost me. My X Mount collection feels pretty much complete (I am still interested in the Tamron 18-300 and Viltrox 13) so now I can get a few more FF lenses. Looking at some of the M Mount stuff from 7Artisans, TTArtisan and Voigtlander as well as adapting the vintage glass I've already acquired.

Anyway I feel like I'm drifting away from the Fuji forum but still do lust after GFX and will still choose my X gear when I get to travel again. I've learned a ton using Fujifilm in the past 5-6 years ago thought I'd post this here. Happy 2022 to everyone.
