I've always found an 85 mm equivalent lens out there in no man's land. It might be that I cut my teeth on Leica and spent a lot of time with a 75 mm. I picked up a 85 f1.4 for my Nikon and never liked it. It was too long for a lot of situations where as the 75 worked fine. On the other hand it was too short for others where there was a lot of space to work in. I sold it and stuck with my 105 mm Nikon along with my 50 mm and that was a good combo. On the long end I had a Nikon 135 f2.

I feel the same about the 56 f1.2. I had one and sold it. It just seemed to be in no man's land. It is a wonderful lens but not an optimal focal length for me. I have the 50 f2 for knocking around on my Pro3 and the 50 f1 for serious work with a fantastic lens. I also have the 90 f2. The 90 f2 is probably Fujifilm's best X lens. It is sharp but not clinically so. The rendering is exquisite on the 90.

If Fuji has a hole it is between the 50 and 90 about 1/2 way.  The classic 105 focal length. If Fuji would down size the 90 mm design to a 70 f2, I would be all over it in a nanosecond or less.
