I very much understand that the focal length is subjective to some, and nobody can choose for me. Which is why I was asking for input from people who had tried both. The research I have done leans towards both being very excellent lenses, and I was semi leaning towards the 90 more recently. Which is why I was curious on feedback of people who have used them.

I'm not sure our feedback will help you much, as some of us prefer the 90 and others the 56.

About Viltrox lenses, they are surprinsingly good and there's not much difference with their Fuji counterparts in terms of rendering. You could buy VIltrox's 56 and 85 lenses, which cost less combined than the Fuji 56 or the Fuji 85. Use them for a while, and if you see you're more at ease with one one them, you can sell it and buy the Fuji version instead. Or keep the Viltrox and don't buy the Fuji, they are really that good.

I know I told you I sold my Viltrox 85 to get the Fuji 90, but as a professional, I prefer having Fuji lenses only. I'm not tender with my gear, sometimes my lenses fall on the floor, bump walls... And I know Fuji lenses are solid. I once dropped my X-T2 with the 23 F1,4 on it on a concrete floor from 1,6 meters high (it was on a tripod and the head broke). The lens hood broke, but the camera and the 23 mm kept working like nothing happened (and they still do several years after).

If it was for my personal use only, I would seriously consider the Viltrox alternative !
