Hands down the R3 does everything better that the R6 can do, and more. Also less rolling shutter. The downsides are: bigger, slightly heavier, more expensive (as you mentioned), and virtually impossible to get right now.

The size and weight do not bother me. The most important thing to me is the quality of the raw material (RAW) that comes out of the camera and the focus. With all the other things you can get by. R6 not good in water and dust? You can buy a shield. R6 short battery life? You can buy GRIP and other batteries. R6 No external data screen? One can get used to using without it. Image quality and focus is what matters most.

This is what I have learned over the last 45+ years. I don't count the first 20 lol. Many times when I tried to cheap out I was never happy and went back and purchased what I wanted in the first place. I cost me twice as much.

The R3 is better, there is no doubt about that. If you want more keepers spend the money if you have it. I'm surprised Hoka Hey hasn't commented. He just got one.

The question is how much R3 is better, is it a small difference or is there a big difference
