Plastic tighteners in Sirui Leg Locks?

Hello all, I was a bit dismayed today when my fairly expensive Sirui tripods smallest leg fell off and with it came some small plastic pieces that broke off with it, I had no idea that my tripod that held my expensive camera many times was being held up by these small plastic pieces inside the leg locks that must clamp down on the carbon fiber

The leg locks themselves are metal but they tighten a plastic piece to keep the leg in place, I wanted to first see if this was normal? If it isn’t and this is some cost cutting move by Sirui I really don’t like it and I’d like to find a more durable tripod that  won’t break on me when I need it.

Thanks for the help, I have N-1204SK from Sirui if that’s helpful. Served me pretty well for over a year but I don’t think it likes the cold very much, I’d take recommendations too of course!
