My Lenovo tablet supports "adoptable storage ", Google's Android 6+ return to microSD functionality after trying to murder it with Android 4.x (KitKat). Because the tablet is low powered and performance limitations of microSD cards, it would do poorly for gaming or serious media editing, but functionally combining internal with microSD storage is a good way to economize on badly overpriced increments of internal storage for less demanding apps and media.

I did not know about the attempted murder in KitKat.

In the Play Store you still find developer notations in the write-ups for various storage-seeking apps, especially third-party camera apps, that inability to use external storage on KitKat is Android's doing and not their own. Neither Google nor the OEMs are fond of microSD functionality when the incremental sale price of a few more GB of internal is many times the same amount for microSD: First with Jellybean and more extremely in KitKat Google tried to kill off phones like my first Andrid Gingerbread LG, with less than 1 GB of internal storage but full functionality for installing and running apps from microSD - I still use it without a SIM as an audiobook reader, and offline exercise MP3, map and timer.
