Preserving ink cartridges (Pigment inks)

So basically long story short, I got a Pixma Pro 10 printer last year.  I went to set it up and it seems the printer is defective.  I've already opened the inks but removed them and replaced the little orange caps that go with them.  I was thinking of putting them in a zip lock bag, removing the air, and storing at room temperature somewhere.  Or do they start to degrade once you expose them to air?

What's the best way (if any) to preserve the inks?

(The printer was on rebate so basically free after MIR, which I already send in and received.  So I'm not that bummed that it didn't work, but was thinking of holding onto the inks if another deal came around on the Pro 10.)
