Below you can see a Little egret hunting in the Halophyte bed on the Slovenian coast. Halophytes, are plants that thrive in salty soils and can withstand or need high concentrations of salt. They are usually found where rivers and streams flow into the sea. In autumn, halophytes turn red-purple due to a lack of nitrogen.
