Comparison between Panasonic S5 (ff) and Panasonic G9 (m43) at iso 4000
2

Hi all,

I recently bought the s5 and was a bit bored so I decided to make some test/comparison pictures between the Panasonic s5 and Panasonic g9.

I took a picture of a pot of pasta sauce at different iso levels from 1600 to 4000, but for this thread I will only post the comparison of the iso4000 shots. In lightroom I upped the exposure each time with 1 stop until +3 in lightroom

Whitebalance I've set to tungsten

Only caveat, the s5 picture has been shot with 85mm f1.8 while the g9 has been shot with 25mm f1.7 (50mm ff equiv)

So:

iso: 4000

ss: 1/60

Ap: 1.8 (s5) 1.7 (g9)

Below some screenshots from the comparison view in lightroom which can give an idea.

If someone is at all interested I will add the full jpeg which will provide better quality then these screenshots.

My conclusion is that the g9 actually performs pretty well vs a full frame sensor which is well known for good low light performance.
