What camera to give a young child?

Our almost four-years-old grandchild very much wants a camera. Friends of our daughter with similarly-aged children highly recommended the Ourlife Kids Waterproof Camera. It turned out to be unsatisfactory on many levels: it has many small buttons that are difficult for even small hands to operate; reviewing a just-taken photograph is difficult; etc. Our grandchild is sad and frustrated, which makes us unhappy.

Recognizing that this may be a temporary enthusiasm, that if it does last we'll likely be replacing our initial purchase more than once over the next several years, and age-inherent limitations, we don't want to spend a lot of money. Indeed, it's possible that there is no reasonable choice.

All that said, is there a recommendable camera costing less than $100? We'd like something that is easy to operate, including making it easy to see photographs that have just been taken. We obviously don't need, and don't expect, great image quality, but images should be decent when displayed on a screen, e.g., a tablet or laptop computer.

Thank you in advance for your advice.
