While waiting for comet Leonard - M42
4

Full of expectation I rigged my small setup for astrophotography, waiting for comet Leonard and M3 to move above my eastern horizon. In the meanwhile I managed to get a total of 60 minutes exposure of M42, mainly to see how far I could reach into the dark regions around the Great Orion nebula with my TS 76 mm f:4.5 astrograph and an ordinary camera (Sony A7rIII), since this area also is beautifully covered with faint dust and gas. Some more hours with exposures, and I am there! Sub frames 30 sec, and 120 of them, are stacked with Registar. The rest is Photoshop. The comet Leonard pictures taken later this night is found in a separat post.

One hour exposure, 120 subs each 30 sec. TS 76 mm f:4.5 apo astrograph.
