Fairy Lochs
2

The aftermath of storm Arwen in the NW Highlands. A glorious if chilly morninig.

Baosbeinn in the distance

One of the lochs is officially a war memorial site, where an American aircraft came down in July 1945 en route home, with the death of all 23 men on board. Aircraft wreckage is scattered about, including in the water, and a small plaque lists the names of the dead - mostly in their early twenties. Such a serene and peacful place.

A propellor blade forms a sculture on the surface of the loch.

The route took us over pathless bog, texture like creme brulee on a frosry day. Fortunately we didn't have to cross this structure!

The return route is a bit easier.
