Button and dial customization when using Lensmate thumb grip on X100V

I'm curious what accommodations people make when using this thumb grip. It really helps with holding the camera, but obscures the back dial and the top dials.

I shoot manual, sometimes AUTO ISO, sometimes setting ISO manually. I like to have the back dial set to control the shutter (I set the top shutter dial to "T"). So I find myself having to flip out the thumb grip quite often to adjust the shutter, and also to select a custom setting that is brought up whenpressing the Q button.

I'm only a couple of weeks into using this camera, which I love, so I'm not against reconfiguring things. But I do need an easy way to adjust shutter speed, preferably without flipping open the thumb grip. Is this just something I have to get used to? Do others with the thumb grip shoot manually and have different configurations?
