Is Canon DP Pro Dead?

I've been a Canon DP Pro user for many years. I just upgraded to the latest MacBook Pro, with the new M1 Pro CPU.  I installed the latest DP Pro, and it needed Rosetta. That, in an do of itself, is ultra-bad news: It means Canon has not recompiled their software for M1 Macs in the past year.

Sure enough, DP Pro on this Mac is incredibly slow. It's much slower than on my older Macs. Granted, I was browsing a folder of 900 images, but seemingly everything runs very slowly. I finally had to give up and edit in Lightroom, which I've avoided for the past ten years or so.

What are your thoughts? Is Canon just giving up on this software? Is it usable for you folks?
