What is the best Z camera AF mode for general photography?

I would appreciate some opinions as to which is the best Z camera autofocus (AF) mode for general purpose photography?  I have our D7500 set to AF-C Auto mode with Focus Priority and the Matrix meter option set to face detect.  This has worked very well with this camera.  Our new Z camera is the Zfc, and we have, so far, been using mostly AF-C, Auto-area AF (people), with Focus Priority.  We would use our general purpose AF settings for landscape and candid photography.

Thanks for your help.
