V860iis TTL mode doesn´t work when is attached to the X2T trigger

I hope someone can help me.

Because of the cage I bought for my Sony A6400, I can't properly fit my Godox V860iis flash inside the hot shoe. To solve this problem, I decided to put the Godox X2Ts trigger in my camera, and then put the flash in the trigger (sounds a bit overkill, I know).

After doing all this, I wanted to use my flash in TTL mode, so I set my flash as a slave unit to be controlled by the trigger (I felt this was the most appropriate setting in case I had to get the flash off the trigger quickly). The camera was set to be used in manual mode.

I took some test shots and the flash fired without any problem. However, I was surprised to find that the pictures came out dark (underexposed).

I went back to take some test shots again, but this time with the flash removed from the trigger. And this time, the pictures came out correctly exposed. Its like the TTL mode  of my flash only works when is separated from the trigger.

Can anyone help me understand why this is happening and what I can do to make the TTL mode work properly when the flash is attached into the trigger?
