Oly Flash/Better Beamer recoms for bugs and birds at 400mm

I have an Oly EM-1 mk ii which I use with the PL 100-400 mm to photograph bugs and, less frequently, birds–both usually at 400 mm. I currently use the included FL-LM3, which is better than nothing for bugs, but useless for birds. I'm looking to upgrade – more light for bugs, etc. and useful for close birds in the forest – while keeping weight and bulk reasonable. I've been looking at the Oly FL-700RW (700 Info). Is this a good choice for these purposes? (I wouldn't want anything heavier). Is there a better beamer model that works with it? Would a better beamer even be necessary or desirable for close bugs? (FYI, I already have the STF-8 for use with Oly 60 mm macro lens).

I'm sensitive to weight and portability; price is not a major issue. Thanks for any help.
