Equipment for bird photography
1

Hi all!

My name is Laura, and since corona I have become obsessed with photographing. At the moment I’m using an old Canon eos 1100D from my parents, with a Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD lens. Since our camera is more dead than alive, my father is planning on buying a canon eos2000d.
Now for my question. Since I don’t have spectacular landscapes or other sights around where I live, I wander around some manmade lakes and parks. Therefore I’m mainly photographing birds at the moment. But as you can imagine, the images aren’t spectacular with the range of a 270mm. I was wondering if the eos2000d will help getting better pictures compared to the eos1100d?
Since I’m just a student I don’t have the money for real telelenses, my current lens is a secondhand a 100€. Is there any way I can improve my range for bird photography? I thought about teleconverters, but I also read it is strongly discouraged for my lens.
Any tips, or do I just have to wait 5 years until I’ve got some money?

Canon EOS 1100D (EOS Rebel T3 / EOS Kiss X50)
