I like your thinking! It was sunny, although later in the day. Not sure why the auto iSO took it at 640? Was thinking maybe I could set it so I could limit it to say 400 or 200?? The izoom thing. I did have izoom on but thought I took the shot at 480 mm which should still be in optical---shouldn't it? Would the izoom still interfere with the shot?

iZoom doesn't kick in until you surpass your optical zoom range. You can easily set a manual ISO.
