It's always a trade-off. Many of us want the high MPs of the D850 and the high ISO performance of the D5 with DR performance at normal and low ISO of the D700/D800. The fact that Nikon built a high MP flagship that's more than likely generally on par with the Z7II/D850 - AND blows away the D5/D6 at normal low ISOs when it comes to DR - is freaking amazing. We no longer need to compromise between ISO/DR/MP.

We'll need to see the formal tests yet how the Z9 performs at high ISO compared to the D5/D6 - but it will clearly kick the D5/D6 in the butt at normal ISO/DR - which is what relegated the D5/D6 to predominantly sports/PJ.
