I have owned the sx range stating from SX10 and use the SX50 extensively still. I bought the SX70 because the viewfinder is awful in the the SX50. It is not detailed enough. It works and is in line with the specs of the day but basically useful for framing and and general composure and not much beyond.
The camera produces impressive results including at the far end of the zoom. Of course it is what it is. It is not a $5000 dollar camera but for non professional shooters it is remarkably good.
I upgraded to the SX70 and was so excited to find the viewfinder produced clear sharp images to help with shooting. Great camera and brand new with the LCD and viewfinder I was hoping for.
Then I saw the results of the pictures. Muddy, blurry and a complete disappointment at long zoom range.
I have revisited the camera a few times since but each time the images results in particul;ar at the long zoom end are awful.
It sits in my cupboard unused and my SX50 still hammers on producing the pictures the SX70 is unable to do so.
