it was a nice size to use and felt better in the hand. The RX100 is amazing but if it was 25% bigger all round including the sensor then it could be that elusive thing, the near perfect camera.

..then may be the RX10ii (I think it is still available) is a good option for you: it is smaller than the RX10iv and bigger than the RX100 series. you have a constant f/2.8 lens, but you will miss the PDAF, which may be only a problem when you want to take pictures of (fast) moving objects.
