My experience is essentially opposite. I am loving every aspect of the RF14-35/4LIS and find it better in every perceptible way (sharpness, color, saturation, flare resistance, distortion, aberration, etc.) than my Z14-30/4S (which I've had for 2.5 years). Obviously the Z is smaller, lighter and cheaper but I tend to err toward higher IQ if I can get it within a practical form factor.

Curious, when I look at The Digital Picture's image crops, the RF14-35 does indeed appear to be the better performer at all but 35mm. However at 35mm it is atrocious. Is that your finding as well?

Good question.  I did see that in Brian's test.  It looks awful.  I just checked and I have one shot at 35mm and it looks fine.  I am wondering if maybe it has to do with close shots wide open.  This shot was not close focused and was not wide open and looks fine to me (although it was not a keeper of a shot artistically).
