Re: Please help with JVC M-510 microphone information

I own this microphone and it is the same as the Primo EMU4535II, Tascam PE-120, Teac ME-120 and Nakamichi CM-300. If you search for phantom power modification for the Nakamichi model, you'll find the schematic. I also easily found the manual for the Nakamichi. A UK seller of Primo mics, parts and accessories has the omnidirectional capsule if you want one. It's reasonably priced and I bought one. I also 3d printed some battery adapter tubes for using either two PX28 or two 3.6 V 1/2AA lithium batteries. Before that, I'd used some clear vinyl tubing (purchased at Lowes) for 1/2 AA and AA batteries and the tubing with some duct tape for the PX28s. The original rubber end cap adapters would work well for AA batteries, but my mic was missing one. The dynamic range might be a little low using a 1.5V AA alkaline. The Nakamichi manual says that the operating voltage is 7-10 volts, but I can assure you that 12 volts from 2 px28 batteries works fine and others agree with me on this. I saw a quote from a qualified tech saying that up to 14 volts is good.
