Is there anyone here with more insight about reversing lenses?

Is there anyone here who has tried reversing various wide angle lenses? I've wondered about what a difference it would be among a short, optically simple design as opposed to a more complex (and higher quality) optical design that's larger. While comparing lenses of equivalent focal length, Presumably a short design such as pancake lens in particular means less problem with WD, while the larger and optically superior design means less diffraction- although, the initial minimum WD of the lenses is probably also important. Reversing a lens is easy, but there are still questions in my mind that don't go away because there's still a complex technical aspect to all of this.

A micro 4/3 would be easy to reverse mount the manual 28mm film lenses and there are numerous 25mm AF lenses for that system to use for comparison, if you can find the wiring to control the aperture and focus. Most of those lenses are focus by wire, but they'd all be the same.

There are two 30mm macro lenses for comparison, but I don't know exactly what you're trying to prove.
