Spoiler alert... the Sony 70-200 wins Tony's comparison. I was surprised he actually gave 2nd place to Nikon. The Canon was third.

For lenses that are priced about the same - the latest one will usually win...not a surprise as the manufacturers can de-construct the competitor's products and see what design choices have made and copy and improve on them.

The Sony 70-200mm is a mark II design - I would hope that it would win as its the latest design and has the benefit of being able to copy everyone's else design and see what compromises were made by others. If it didn't win - I don't see the point of Sony releasing it.
