Macro on a budget

Hi all,

If, like me, you don't take many macro close up images, this might be an idea.

Vintage 50mm manual lenses from the film era often work quite well as pseudo macro lenses because of their relatively simple and symmetrical lens element construction.

The less bright f/1.7 or f/2.0 ones are usually better than the f/1.4 or f/1.2 versions in this respect.

So here are some examples on the X-T2 from my Nikkor f1.8 50mm AI plus manual Nikon PK-11, 12 and 13 extension rings. Together, they cost me €185/$212. The great thing is that I still have exposure metering and focus magnification on the Fuji

PK-11 + 50mm f/11

PK-12 + 50mm f/11

PK-12 + 50mm f/11

PK-11 + 50mm f/11

PK-11 +50mm f/11

PK-11 + 50mm f/11

PK-13 + 50mm f/11

Fujifilm X-T2 + Kipon adapter + Nikkor f/1.8 50mm AI + Nikon PK-11, 12 and 13

Thanks for looking,

André
