Does it make sense to get a body just for one lens?

How weird, of all of my Fuji gear I thought the 35/1.4 would go like a charm and after the X-Pro1 sudden death I sold the 14/2.8 (locally which was good for both me and buyer, test, save shipping and no worries about payment) and the 18-55, the former made no sense to me as wide end I own a 20/1.8 on Nikon where I have plenty of pixels to play with, the latter never really hit me, sure a comfy walk around lens but quality wise a lot of hype and little substance.

When I put gear on sale they all asked about the 35 which I didn't want to sell before the other stuff was gone and when I decided and put it up for sale on some local photo markets nobody even smelled it (and am not selling overpriced compared to other sellers).

Of the whole Fuji experience (disappointing to a degree as I had higher expectations out of the X-Trans coming off a Fuji S-CCD camera) the 35 got me some very nice shots, not a perfect lens at all but coupled with small dimensions of the Pro1 body made a great walk around kit, not a lightning fast one for my kind of shooting but I managed to grab some very good ones (see here ), it was a pain with manual focus lenses as focus peaking was kind of jurassic with the Pro1 and I guess that with second gen it got better but especially with longer focal lengths nailing focus was like winning lottery.

Now question being, I currently use 2 Nikon FF bodies and the plan is to get a ML in the next 9 months (yes, like giving birth...), does it make sense to get a Fuji camera just for that very one lens? I love the form factor of the Pro line (still have the L bracket and thumb rest) but the X-T line always appealed me with the plethora of manual controls (I don't like to dive into menus to change settings, ISO, exposure mode, exp compensation and burst mode gotta be there for quick access!), would an X-T2, which goes between 500 and 650 on the used market, depending if buying private or off a shop, be a waste of money or should I just resist, try again to sell the 35 and look forward to stay in the Nikon realm with one battery charger, one adapter and less stuff left unused?

I know, silly question but I need a push to go either way

Grazie
