I know the original M6 can't because I have one, I was going to get an M6 Mark 2 instead because it does support this, but I'm pondering over the M200 instead. According to the manual:

Does anyone here use the M200 for remote shooting with both photo and movie modes and how easy is it to change modes from the smartphone app/EOS utility? Walking up to the camera to change settings in my case is highly undesirable...

Thanks in advance!

I have tried it out on my M200. Yes, you can switch it between photo and video using the Camera Connect app on the phone.

My camera is set to Av mode. I pressed the video button located at the top of the app in remote live view shooting (see photo below) and it will change to video mode.

But take note the video is in auto exposure mode and you cannot change the settings such as shutter speed and aperture.

Hope it helps.
