Interesting to read the responses.  I bought an E-1 new in 2004 or 20005, including the grip.  I agree that it felt good to use.  But so did the E-3 and E-5, which I purchased as well.  The E-5 with grip felt the best overall for me.  Still have the 3 & 5 and they see occasional use, but my em1mk2 with grip is my main body now.  I probably prefer the E-5 for feel, but em1mk2 is easier to carry.  I still use my 4/3 lenses quite frequently.  I suspect if the 1X gets a significant update, I might be in the market for it.
