Part of the problem is legacy components have a low profit margin.  Foundries make more money selling chips to Apple, etc., that demand the latest which produce more profits for foundries.  So the runs for the legacy components are low on the priority list.  I ordered a new truck back in April and got it in May.  The dealer did not have anything of what I wanted on his lot (and his lot was huge and mostly empty).  The manager told me if I ordered I would go to the top of the production priority list - ahead of the dealers normal inventory.  It took about 6 weeks.

Fuji has said they underestimated the demand on this lens and simply ran out of parts.  They have to get in line with everyone else.  I expect they learned their lesson and made sure they ordered sufficient parts for their new lenses and XH2.
