Before I bought an R, I thought the telescoping design of the Rf 70-200mm f/2.8L was a gimmick, and that it would result in grit and moisture getting into the lens. After all, I was the proud and happy owner of the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II, so the RF version seemed irrelevant.

Then I got the R and, despite the odd ergonomics and clunky AF tracking, quickly decided to ditch my 5DIV. I could see that the mirrorless bodies were going to quickly displace dSLR's.

Unfortunately, I found my beloved EF 70-200mm with the adapter was suddenly awkward to use on the R. It's zoom and MF rings seemed just out of place, especially in portrait mode. So, I took another look at the RF 70-200mm's reviews, including some longer term ones, and decided to swap.

It really is as good, as practical, and pleasurable to use as ProDude says!
